The Deputy Chairman of Hezbollah’s Political Council, Mahmoud Qamati, said in a television interview that “the President of the Republic’s speech was not surprising, but rather shocking. He thanked Trump for the ceasefire and did not thank Iran,” stressing that “contact was cut off with the President of the Republic after his last speech.” Qamati added: “We agreed to the ceasefire that Iran achieved.” He continued: "We will not initiate any violation and we will not cancel the truce, but if the enemy violates it, we will not remain silent and we will respond." Qamati stressed that “the issue of weapons is an internal Lebanese matter that is subject to dialogue between the resistance and the state, and no one can remove this weapon.” He said: “After the subsequent victory, the state has two options: either apologize to the people and cancel its decisions against the resistance, or it will face “peaceful” popular anger that will bring it down.”
